Appearance and Diagnosis of Dangerous Skin Cancer like melanoma.

Melanoma is a type of cancer which is also known as malignant melanoma developing from the melanocytes of pigment-containing cells. It can be more serious because it may spread to other parts of the body and causes serious illness and death when compared to other forms of skin cancer. Typically, Melanomas occur in the skin and rarely in the mouth, eye and intestines. Most commonly in women they occur on the legs, while in men they are common on the back. Also, sometimes they develop from a mole with changes like irregular edges, increase in size skin breakdown, itchiness and change in colour. Early caught of melanoma could be primarily treated is by surgical removal like minor surgery. The most aggressive form of skin cancer is cutaneous melanoma. People with low levels of skin pigment would be the primary target of melanoma when exposed to ultraviolet light (UV) which may be from either the sun or with tanning devices. It mainly occurs in those with many moles as their development mostly starts from a mole, who are having poor immune system, genetical history of affected family members would be at greater risk or chances of affecting with Melanoma.

Treatment:

Clinical diagnosis confirmation should be done with a skin biopsy technique which is a medical test commonly performed by a surgeon which involves extraction of sample cells or tissues for examination, presence or extent of a disease in determination process. Or skin lesion can also be removed and sent to a pathologist to render for a microscopic diagnosis which is commonly performed by dermatologists by surgery alone. Melanoma can also be prevented by using sunscreen as it appears to be effective in preventing and avoidance to UV light. These sunscreens also protect against another skin cancer like squamous cell carcinoma.
